Now Available: Recorded Webcasts and Summary Reports from the A New Day: We're Listening Sessions

Earlier this year, Assistant Secretary Kathleen Martinez and Federal Partners held a series of listening sessions in six cities throughout the country that focused on the issues involved with disability employment. The summary reports for each of the sessions, together with the recorded video and audio programs are now available on ODEP's A New Day: We're Listening page.

100 Days to the ADA

On April 17, 2010, Disability.gov launched 100 Days to the ADA, a countdown to the 20th Anniversary of the signing of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990. During this period, Disability.gov will explore one of our nation's most important civil rights achievements, including ramifications of the ADA, historical points leading up to its creation and how supporting individuals with disabilities supports ALL Americans. The countdown will be available on Disability.gov's Blog which can be found here.

Federal Career Internship Program Opportunities

The Federal Career Internship Program (FCIP) is a 2-year entry-level, full-time employment and career development training program in the excepted service, designed to prepare individuals for a career in public service. Upon successful completion of the program, FCIP participants may receive a permanent, full-time position with HRSA.

Telephone Relay Systems: Enabling Telephone Access for Customers & Employees

Provides information on telephone relay systems (TRS), which allow people who are deaf or hard of hearing to communicate with those who are not using telecommunications. Find a TRS provider in your state or dial 711 on your telephone, which will automatically connect you to your nearest relay service provider.

35th Annual TASH Conference

This year's theme is Embracing Difference...It's Time. The conference will focus on innovative practices to promote inclusion and reduce the disparities experienced by individuals with significant disabilities in schools, community living, and employment. SABE: 2010 National Self Advocacy Conference

Registration is now available for the 2010 SABE conference. This year's conference theme is "Jazz It Up: Celebrating 20 Years of Self Advocates Being Empowered," which marks the anniversary of the ADA and acknowledges the last twenty years of the disability movement in the United States. disABLEDperson, Inc Hosts Employment Web Portals

disABLEDperson, Inc., since 2002 a 501 (c) (3) non-profit public foundation has a mission to reduce the extremely high unemployment rate amongst the disabled by providing as a public service our online recruitment. A primary goal associated with this mission is to connect individuals and veterans with disabilities with employers who are proactive in hiring them.
